00Remember in the Olivet Discourse, the basic question being asked, and by the way, I still have a few of these parallel studies, so afterwards, if you want to pick one up, you're welcome to if you didn't get one already. But the basic question being asked by the disciples is: What will be the sign of your coming and the end of the age? And Matthew, Mark, and Luke record Jesus' answer. We've looked at the seals, the scroll being unrolled, hasn't been unrolled yet, my opinion. It's seven seals. We've looked at the first four, those birth pangs or the horses. There's the fifth seal, which is the cry of the martyrs, which gives some kind of indication that that's a very trying time for Christians during that period of the represented or reflected in the four horsemen. Then in seal number six, you have the cosmic signs. First four in the Olivet Discourse are described as birth pangs, and there seems to be a really close connection between seals one and four and what Jesus refers to as birth pangs. Then there is the cry of the martyrs, obviously a time of testimony, great testimony.

31That is going up before a watching world and that is having an impact. The testimony of these saints during this time are testifying to the nations. And so God is using their testimony and bringing people to Himself in great numbers, as we'll see next week when we see this great multitude and where they come from. But tonight's outline, I want to focus our attention on this sixth seal, the cosmic signs. I want to look at the cosmic signs, the similarities between Revelation 6 and the Olivet Discourse. Then I want to look at what these cosmic signs indicate.

19And number three, the day of the Lord. I want to do a brief Old Testament survey, what it is. So let's just jump right in. Cosmic signs. I want to talk about the similarities between the Olivet Discourse and Revelation 6. In Revelation 6, we read these words last week. I looked, and when he broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood. And the stars of the sky fell to the earth as a fig tree. Casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind. The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. So these are the cosmic signs described in Revelation. Then in the Olivet Discourse, you have a striking similarity.

23This is my parallel study. If you can, the whole thing's right there. But if you look at what Matthew says, immediately after the tribulation of those days, the tribulation, which he has just referred to as the great tribulation, one that has never happened like this in earth, but immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Mark, basically, almost verbatim, says the very same thing. Luke says something similar, but adds a few details. There will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among the nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. So all of them certainly have, with these cosmic signs, all four elements, the sun, moon, stars. And skies. Striking similarity between Olivet Discourse and this Sixth Seal, or certainly the cosmic signs indicated in this sixth seal.

45But then Revelation goes on to describe earthly terrors. Then the kings of the earth, the great men, the commanders, and the rich, and the strong, and every slave and free man, hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks, the mountains. And they said to the mountains and to the rocks, fall on us and hide us from the presence of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb. For the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?

19Recording earthly terrors, when you're crying out to rocks to bury you, that is speaking of great perplexity, great terror hitting the hearts of all humanity. And that's a pretty expansive list, of all-encompassing list of humanity. In the Olivet Discourse, you have something similar described, at least by Luke. Matthew, Mark don't really record it, but Luke says, There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars, and on the earth. He takes, he puts the attention on the earth, dismay among the nations. In perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves. He adds the detail of the sea and the waves. Men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world. So, very much another strong connection or parallel between what is being said in Revelation 6: the terror, the dismay, men fainting.

30So, then, what do these signs indicate? It said, so there's similarities between the Olivet discourse, similarities between Revelation 6. But what do these signs indicate? What are we getting at here? Well, if you were here this morning, you know that I see these as the day of the Lord. And I want to make sure you see why I see that and why I think it's important to see that. These signs indicate that the time known in Scripture as the day of the Lord has finally come.

08And how can we be sure that these cosmic signs are announcing the day of the Lord? I think it's a very important element. As you're working your way through Revelation, you have to start making some decisions and decisions based upon the text and the language that the text uses. Even if you're not sure where that may be. Put you in a school or camp with regards to an interpretive paradigm of Revelation, it is important to go through and to make sure of your steps and to make some interpretive decisions. And this is one of those. How can we be sure that these cosmic signs are announcing the day of the Lord? Well, a couple reasons. Number one, because of the language in 6:17 of Revelation. The language there says, for the great day of their wrath has come. The day, if you're Greek, would say, you'd translate it like this, word for word, the day, the great one of their wrath.

21The day, the great one of their wrath. And this language is used throughout Scripture to refer to the day of the Lord. In fact, there's a difference between day of the Lord with a capital D. There is an ultimate day of the Lord. And everyone, it's understood in Scripture prophetically that there is coming a day when God puts an end to evildoers on planet Earth. There is that day. That is prophesied from the very beginning. You have a day when Satan is crushed completely and all of his activity is done away with. And throughout history, there are days of the Lord, little D, days that come on, day of judgment here, day of judgment there, where he brings upon a nation what he says he's going to bring upon them. But all of that is an indication of a greater day, a one that is ultimately coming. And so that throughout Scripture, this language, the great day of their wrath, the day of wrath, the day is coming, is used throughout Scripture. And so the language is very precise there in Revelation 16. And I try to say exactly what the language right there in Revelation before we start trying to connect this to other scriptures, because there's a lot of scriptures that you can bring in. And sometimes if you choose one that connects in your mind but may not connect or isn't using the same precise language, you can easily hamstring or force an interpretation in Revelation that isn't warranted.

11But we know that the earth dwellers at that time know what's coming upon the earth. They say the great day of their wrath has come, and we are to assume they are correct. They are correct, they know what's coming on, and they even know why. Won't get into it. That, but they know that they are opposing God, they know they are opposing his Lamb, and probably shows up in some of the treatment of the martyrs that have been there before the altar. But they know, they know what's coming upon them. And we know they know because the vision was given to inform the reader. In other words, the acknowledgement of verse 17, the day, the great day of their wrath has come, is a prophetic detail in the vision that communicates what is happening. In other words, Christ is giving this vision to John so that it could be given to the churches. And so, this is a prophetic detail: the great day of their wrath has come. So, the language of 6:17 is very precise. And so, we can take that step. Yes, we're talking about the day of the Lord, and this is what this language is intending to communicate.

40But there's another reason why we can connect this to the day of the Lord is because of what immediately follows in the Olivet discourse. You remember what we looked at last time, the cosmic disturbances, what we just talked about, the cosmic disturbances, cosmic disturbances, and earthly terrors. Then, immediately, Immediately in all three Gospels, you have this statement. And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. Mark. Luke. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with great power and great glory. So you have immediately following in the Olivet discourse, after these cosmic signs, these great cosmic and earthly signs, you have this coming. And this is the sign. This is the answer to the question: what will be the sign of your coming? And so, when the moon turns to blood, when there's a great earthquake, when the sky is ripped apart, when the sun turns dark like sackcloth and stars are falling earthward, that's it. You're not going to miss it. And earth inhabitants are not going to miss it.

13That's the sign. And they're going to know what's coming. They're going to know why. And of course, as Revelation goes on, it's going to take a greater amount. Of deception to rally earth to go to war against the Lamb. That'll come. And that's going to be why so much, another wave of intense deception is going to be brought upon the earth. But just as we're working through this, I think it's helpful. There are certain expressions you don't want to confuse, or I which suggest don't confuse. The day of the Lord refers to something. There are lots of others in Scripture that speak of a period of time, a difficult time, like the time of Jacob's trouble. You may see that. The hour of testing, spoken like in Revelation 3 to the church of Philadelphia.

26Tribulation with a small T, tribulation is going to come, all kinds of tribulation. There's birth pangs. We've talked about birth pangs. Talked about the great tribulation. And there's a lot of others. But all of these expressions are, they could, there may be some overlap with some of these events. But I think it's best to keep them distinct when the Lord is using words and phrases that are. Different, he's nuancing something. Even if they overlap or even if they're identical, it's important that you keep them and when you come across them in Scripture that you let the text explain what it is exactly that he's trying to get at by using these expressions. Let me just explain why I think this is important.

27Just think about a relationship when you're trying to relate these events, because that's inevitably what people want to do and is understand these events and then relate them to one another. And it's a valid inquiry. But think for a moment, like the day of the Lord. The day of the Lord is not just going to be something that happens in a flash, but it's a period of time. Just like they were, see this pattern in the Old Testament. The day of the Lord would come. For instance, Babylonian exile. If you remember, the day of the Lord, the prophets kept announcing, the day is coming, the day is coming. And other prophets are saying, nah, God would never do that. God wouldn't do that to Jerusalem. No way. He wouldn't do that. He loves Jerusalem. Well, in 605, Nebuchadnezzar comes, 605 B.C. And takes away. Daniel goes. Jeremiah is there. Isaiah's been prophesying this. Jeremiah stays there. He's prophesying. Look, it's coming. You need to rend your heart. Turn to God. Daniel is over there now in Babylon. And witnessing to these people. That's 605. And I think it's about 597-ish.

51They harden their hearts. They don't. And Nebuchadnezzar comes back. And then Ezekiel gets taken away. And so now you have prophecies, Jeremiah speaking to the people in Jerusalem. You have Ezekiel preaching and teaching to the people in exile. You have Daniel, you have, and they're saying, turn to the Lord, turn to the Lord, rend your heart. This is coming upon you. You still have prophets. Oh, no, God would never do that to Jerusalem. God would never do that to Jerusalem. And so, guess what finally happens in 586?

31The temple's destroyed. Nebuchadnezzar's fed up. He comes back and comes down hard on them. The point is, that was nearly a 20-year period. And during that whole time, God is giving a witness to the people. Turn, obey God. Oh, no, the day isn't coming. Yes, it is. Yes, it is. God would never do that. Yes, he would. Well, God would never put someone in hell. Yes, he will. And so the day of the Lord is a period where God pours out his judgment. But even during that period, he's not just trying to exterminate. There is a striving, there is a witness for the purpose. He wants people to know why judgment is coming, and he's wanting people to turn from it.

31And so the day of the Lord, if you look at this graphic, the way I put it up here, okay, you got the day, but it represents a period. There's a time that takes place. So if you think about like this whole birth pangs great tribulation, okay, these four horsemen and the events, some people refer to them as the tribulation, even though Jesus uses the word birth pangs to divide it and great tribulation. Those are the two terms that he uses. Some put these together and they just call this the tribulation, regardless. That's why I'm saying I think it's good to keep the terms that the Bible uses and be precise. But if this event happens simultaneously, it would look like this: the day of the Lord and then this birth pangs great tribulation, just happening at the same time, terms being synonymous. I don't think they're synonymous. I think they're highlighting something different, but they could occur at the same time.

37But if the relationship is finished to start, is Jonathan Houston here today? I think he works at the, I'll tell you, one of the best classes I ever took at Texas AM was in the construction department, construction scheduling. So, any of you engineers, any of you people, there's two great classes. One is you need to learn that they taught me at AM water flows downhill. That was really good. And the next one was how to schedule. And the Primavera software, taking complex. You know, what's the difference between a simple and a complex project? I'll tell you. A simple project is a few simple tasks. You know what a complex project is?

28A whole bunch of simple tasks. And tasks are simple. It's just when you have so many of them, you have to, but they happen. We're human. So everything has to be simple. You just put them in a nice, organized way. And that's what this software does. But there's this, and you can put all kinds of processes together and overlaps, because some events overlap. Some things are, and so the same. Is here. So, if you could think about if the relationship was a finish to start, birth pangs, great tribulation, then the day of the Lord. You see how that might look on a timeline. First you have these birth pangs, then you go through the great tribulation, then you have the day of the Lord. And so, but then, suppose the relationship is not simultaneous, suppose it's not finished to start, suppose it's overlapping. Well, then you might have something like this: the birth pangs, the great tribulation, and the day of the Lord, and there might be some period that the Bible, this period of the great tribulation, may spill over as the day of the Lord gets started and going.

45All that to say, this is why I think it's important to keep these terms separated, because they are all speaking about something that takes some time, and then you can relate them in a way that just doesn't just become this big, confused mess. The scripture is really simple about what it says. It's just putting all these little simple parts, connecting them in a proper and relatable way. And so that's why it's important to keep the terms separate. And even though there may be overlap, just let the scripture indicate what it wants. What it's saying, what it's nuancing. And so, the third element I want to talk to you tonight about is the day of the Lord and do a quick Old Testament survey of what it is. What is the day of the Lord? The Bible's really clear on this. Zephaniah 1:14, near is the great day of the Lord, near and coming very quickly. Listen, the day of the Lord, in it, the warrior cries out bitterly. This picture of the great warrior broken bitterly. This is the day of the Lord. A day of wrath is that day, a day of trouble and distress, a day of destruction and desolation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness. That's the day of the Lord. It's a day of wrath.

32Who is this day ultimately on? Obadiah 1:15 says it like this: For the day of the Lord draws near on all the nations. As you have done, it will be done to you. Your dealings will return on your own head. This day that is coming is drawing near on all nations. God's going to bring an end to wickedness. Zephaniah 3:8 says this, Therefore, wait for me, declares the Lord, for the day when I rise up as a witness. Indeed, my decision is to gather nations, to assemble kingdoms, to pour out on them my indignation, all my burning anger. For all the earth will be devoured by the fire of my zeal.

36God says it like this: the day of the Lord is coming. It is a day of wrath. It is a day when I am going to assemble nations and pour out my indignation on them. Now, how is he going to do that? The day of judgment's coming. Do you think nations are just going to show up? Oh, the day of judgment's happening over there, and it's going to be in the valley of Jehoshaphat. That's what the prophet says. So let's go over there. It's about time for judgment. So, nations, let's all go over there and assemble. No, that's not how he's going to assemble them. What's going to happen is he's going to assemble, regather Jerusalem. I mean, regather Israel. And then, guess what's not far behind that? Israel's enemies. And he's going to gather them against Israel. And there.

30That is how he is going to gather nations. They're not going to come to the day of judgment on their own volition. They're going to show up because God's going to draw them there, much like he is drawing Israel, will regather Israel into the land. And it's not hard to see these dynamics at work in our time now. I don't know when he's coming back. I don't know the times or the epics. I know what the word says, and I try to sort through it all. But it's clear that you can see some dynamics. God is very much bringing Israel back into the land.

08And it doesn't take much to figure out that Israel has a lot of enemies. And there are many that would love to see them pushed off into the sea. It's not hard to see those dynamics. There is a time when all will forsake Israel, including the United States. Sad. But all means all. God has a purpose for this, though. So, back to our question: what is the day of the Lord? Is it a day of wrath and indignation? Who is it ultimately on all the nations? He poured out his wrath upon Israel for becoming like the nations. You can be sure that he's going to. Pour out his wrath on the nations because they're like the nations.

07But just so you get an idea of this prophetic calendar in the Old Testament, and I'm talking, you just start with Isaiah. Well, you can start before that, but it's just the prophetic calendar, think through like Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, the 12, what we call the minor prophets. Throw Daniel in there, and the prophetic calendar is very consistent throughout all these prophets. Israel is going to experience the day of the Lord for their spiritual adultery. That's what's going to happen to Israel. They were to be, they were pledged to Yahweh, they were pledged to him, they went after idols, and they became adulterers. God hates adultery.

55There's a depth there. I don't think you realize just the whole concept of adultery and faithlessness touches the heart of God deeply. Israel will experience the day of the Lord because of their spiritual adultery. This is what the book of Hosea is about. And all the curses are going to come upon them. And one of those final curses is. Dysporah. He's going to send them to the nations. But then, as you keep reading these prophets, Israel is going to be regathered into the land.

43Third, the nations will be gathered against Israel. Fourth, the nations will experience the day of the Lord. Fifth, Israel will turn to the Lord and be blessed. Sometime in that process, when the nations are experiencing the day of the Lord, and maybe in conjunction with the Great Tribulation in these terms, Israel is going to turn to the Lord and be blessed. And then the nations will be blessed. That's the prophetic calendar that goes through, that's very consistent throughout the prophets. And so, when we back to our question about the day of the Lord, what is it? A day of wrath, a day of God's indignation that He's going to pour it out? Who is it upon? Upon the nations?

44And why does it come? Why does it come? Well, Zechariah 7:12 says it like this: speaking to Israel. This is why it came upon Israel. Zechariah 7:12 says this, They made their hearts like flint, so they could not hear the law and the words which the Lord of hosts had sent by his Spirit through the former prophets, therefore great wrath came from the Lord of hosts. Here's their problem: They made their hearts like flint, so they couldn't hear anymore. They couldn't hear God anymore. Listen, if there's a message for us today, soften your hearts, listen, obey God when he has given you his word. Quick, obey it, and more truth will be given. But if you harden your heart, even that truth that you have heard will be taken away from you.

50Well, this is what they did. They made their hearts like flint. They wanted God to be like them. And so, and listen, we can do that today. We can read a little bit of scripture. We can get just enough knowledge. We'll focus our minds and attention just on what we want to justify what we want. And our hearts can become very hard. Even while we're professing to be very religious, this was the landscape of Jesus' day.

34While we're here at Zechariah 7:12, I want to point something out to you. The words of Scripture are the words of God. This is a good Old Testament text about inspiration. They made their hearts like flint so that they could not hear the law and the words which the Lord of hosts had sent by his Spirit through the former prophets. Do you see? It is God's words, even though they're spoken through the former prophets. They're God's words which the Lord of hosts had sent by his spirit. Listen, God didn't just inspire a Bible writer. Like, oh yeah, I'm going to go write a book of the Bible. That's what I'm going to do. He inspired the very words. So what we have is divine speech, though it is given through human agency. It is given by his Spirit. And those who will not listen to Scripture do not listen to God. And that is why you are not to harden your heart to Scripture or to play loosely with Scripture or to make it Say what you want it to say, or to be one who picks and chooses. Bring yourself under Scripture. Receive the words.

12This is why the day of the Lord comes. It's because deep down we become very complex in our hardening. This is what happened to Israel. And the nations need to learn what happened to Israel and why. Because if God isn't going to spare them, guess what? He's not going to spare any of the other nations either. So, how is it avoided? How is the day of the Lord avoided? Well, that too is abundantly clear in Scripture. Zephaniah 2:3 says this: Seek the Lord, all you humble of the earth. Seek righteousness, seek humility. Perhaps you will be hidden in the day of the Lord's anger. That's the answer. Humble yourself. Become a student. Become a learner of Scripture.

19Humble. Seek righteousness. Seek humility. Hosea. 10, 12 says this. Sow with a view to righteousness. Reap in accordance with kindness. Break up your fallow ground. For it is time to seek the Lord until he comes to rain righteousness on you. Listen, when you hear a text like this, start breaking your heart up even as you hear the words. Lord, open my heart. Lord, break down the barriers that I have. Break down the idols. Lord, do not let me be hard against you. Do not let me grow in hardness against you. I hope that's your prayer. I hope that's your heart's disposition. If it is not, you're on a trajectory of hardening. And this is why so few find it. God says, broad is the way to destruction, Jesus says. Narrow is the way to life, because what he wants is for people to truly yield their heart to God in the inner parts. That's what he's after.

40Verse 13, you have plowed wickedness. You have reaped injustice. You have eaten the fruit of lies because you have trusted in your way. That is what God is calling all of us away from, is your own way. Listen, you've lived long enough. To know that your own way isn't good ultimately. You know, it leads to emptiness. It's not complete. It's not sufficient. Stop trusting in your own way. That's how you avoid the day of the wrath. Because if you continue in your own way, that's why the day of the Lord is coming upon the nations and upon all those who trust in their own way and who makes their heart like flint and does not break it.

39You see, there is no new recipe for escaping God's wrath. There isn't a new recipe in the New Testament. It's about humbling yourself before Almighty God, confessing your sin, and accepting His provision for your sin. You can't earn. You can't make it right. He has to pardon. But then you're to have an attitude of learning from Him. There's no new recipe for escaping wrath. You must humble yourself, ask Him, and don't think you're going to be an exception. None of you will be an exception if you harden your heart to truth. There's only one thing coming: the day of the Lord.

30Ah, now here's a face you won't forget. Well, maybe some of you already have. Who is that? Winston Churchill, that old Brit. You remember his famous statement in World War II, after the onslaught had gone on with the Germans for a while, Britain managed to win a victory. And then Winston Churchill says this: Now, this is not the end, speaking of the war. This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end.

19But what does he say? It is perhaps the end of the beginning. Famous quote from history: the end of the beginning. Let's talk about the day of the Lord. Well, it's not the end of the beginning. That's not what the day of the Lord is. It's not the end of the beginning. But it is not the end. It is the beginning of the end. That's what the day of the Lord is. It is the beginning of the end.

55And so when these signs hit, it is the end of the end. Beginning of the end. And it does come to a conclusion. In fact, in Revelation 15:1, after the seven trumpets are blown, and then the seventh trumpet is blown, then seven bowls come out to be poured out. And then I saw another sign, 15:1. I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels who had seven plagues, which are the last, because in them the wrath of God is finished. This day of wrath comes to a conclusion with the bowl judgments. So what starts, this cosmic signs of seal number six, is an indication, an announcement, the day of the Lord is at hand.

56And then the blowing of the, or the pouring out of the seventh bowl finished. But as we think about this, I just want to leave us with a few thoughts and learn from Israel's future repentance. Hosea records how one day there will be a repentance in national Israel. That serves as a good indication of how we should be approaching the Lord. Return, O Israel, to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled because of your iniquity. Take words with you and return to the Lord. Say to him, Take away all iniquity and receive us graciously, that we may present the fruit of our lips. Assyria will not save us. We will not ride on horses, nor will we say again, Our God to the work of our hands, for in you the orphan finds mercy.

00At some point, Israel is going to realize Assyria won't save us. Egypt won't save us. Not even the United States of America will save us. And they will turn to their only hope, King Yahweh. Oops. I don't know what just happened. But King Yahweh, I don't know if you can find that slide, but King Yahweh is going to answer. And he's going to say to them, I have healed your apostasy. I will heal their apostasy. I will love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them. Listen, when you come to God with that brokenness of spirit, that contrite heart, that honest soul that wants to be right with him, it's not trying to hide your sins. But trying to come before him in truth. He wants people who will worship him in spirit and truth.

09He says, I will heal their apostasy. I will love them freely. That is what he wants from us. That disposition to go through life. Turning to him. And he promises to love freely. Well, questions? Thoughts? Yes, ma'am. On the slide of the prophetic AIAHA. Uh-huh. What is the one that happens after Israel comes to the turn of the land? Then the nations. That's going to bring about righteousness in all the nations. God is about bringing about righteousness in all the nations on the earth. Israel happens to be one of them. And so when they turn, and I think that's going to happen through the period of the day of the Lord and maybe some part of the Great Tribulation, we can sort those terms out.

12But Israel is going to finally look upon the one whom they've pierced. They're going to get it. When they have looked to all the other nations for help, when they've exhausted everything, then they're going to turn to King Yahweh. King Yahweh is going to come, and he's going to. To fight for them. Zechariah, this is the end of Zechariah. His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, and it will split north to south, a big valley. That's where the valley of Jehoshaphat, I believe, will be created. That's where the nations will be gathered, and that's where he'll enter into judgment on them. But it's even, but Israel, when this happens, it's interesting to watch what happens to Israel prophetically looking forward to this day. They don't go into a time of great celebration. They go into a time of deep mourning when they look upon and really get it.

09We pierced our Messiah. And they will look upon him. And they will lead the world and show the world, I believe, what national repentance looks like. What a nation looks like rending its heart before the Lord. And so, certainly, after that, nations are blessed. The earth is blessed. And so there is a whole different paradigm, planet Earth. So to answer your question, after Israel turns, nations will be blessed. There's going to be judgment upon the nations, but there's going to be blessing upon nations. Yes, sir. So, first of all, scripture is usable and thank you for unfolding a lot of the forums here.

10So, you said that the day of the Lord and the tribulation are distinct as the various times. And then you also gave three possibilities of straightened two, the current line is a straight line and an overlapping line of birth line. Seal number six is the day of the Lord. And the first four seals are the birth nature before the tribulation came. I understand correctly, but you recommend some kind of overlap? Well, and we'll work through that. Yeah, but I would say the sixth seal is an indication that the day of the Lord has come.

54And then the seventh seal is opened up. And so, now, I part company with some of my heroes on this, but they would say, yeah, the sixth seal is the commencement of the day of the Lord. And I would say, well, it's okay. We're just trying to sort through it all. But it's like with the sixth day, I think that just is that earth attention getter. It's here. And what's interesting in In Matthew, as you read through it, people are eating and drinking. Things are going on as usual up until this moment when the sky splits apart like that. And so I think it's an indication that the day of the Lord is about to commence. And I think that's what the seventh seal does. And then you have the trumpets and the bowls. And that does give you some kind of a framework then. What is the scroll about? Well, the scroll may be more about the day of the Lord than it is about, because once that seventh seal is broken and the people have already acknowledged the day of the Lord is coming, now you're going to get what that day of the Lord unpacks, what it looks like. And it ends up at the pouring out at the last bowl. So some overlap, I think, we'll work it all out, but I do think that some of these certainly overlap.

36I think just to go linear, might, but some don't. But I'll show you. But I do think tonight, if you can take away, just in your, as you're looking at these end-time prophecies, that what's happening with the sixth seal is you can prudently walk away saying, yes, this is an indication that the The day of the Lord has started or is just about to start. I believe it's just about to start because before it starts, they want to seal the 144,000. And then the next group of people in chapter 7 are going to be about this great multitude that are obviously coming out of this great tribulation. And we'll look a little more at that term next week. But so I think there might be a little bit of overlap, but it's fine if you don't.

30Yes, sir. We were reading completely into all the family as a family, and we saw the summary there too, and a lot of the solutions to it all in the verse as well. Yeah, well, good that you're reading Joel. What does Joel happen? Joel's all about the day of the Lord. The day of the Lord is coming. And what is he seeing? He's seeing locusts. And he's seeing a locust plague. And he's saying, look, folks, this is speaking about God's judgment. This isn't the final, the final day isn't just a locust plague. The final day is God's wrath against all nations. And so, where the Son is going to be, he's going to refer to some of these, but then, yes, he comes around. So, regardless of what time period you're in, you're Heart. That's the solution. Yeah, so thank you. Well, good conversation.

38Let's go. Heavenly Father, we thank you for these words that you have inspired. That we're not looking at man's wisdom, but Father, that we can be sure when we leave here tonight that you have given us your words. And though they are through men, They are not of men. They are words that you have given. Help us not to harden our hearts to them. We thank you, Father, for the truth they contain, and we want to come under them. And not just that, interact with them, meditate on them. And so, as we meditate upon your words, Father, we are fellowshipping with you. Help us, Lord, to go this week, thanking you for the great privilege of being a witness and being in your service. And, Lord, I pray this week that you'd bless everybody who came here tonight. I pray that you'd give them back the time that you would bless their week, that you would bless their walk with you, that you would bring hearts to you, convert hearts, convert the lost, heal the broken, and strengthen your people to the end that you may be glorified. In Jesus' name, amen.
